Portrait Consultation / Site Selection
Several days prior to the session, our photographer will consult with you to select a location and setting that will help you feel natural in front of the camera, discuss wardrobe options, and plan the best time to schedule your portrait session.
Whether we photograph your family at your home or at an alternate location, we will make the best possible use of available, or ‘ambient’ light for its naturally flattering effects. A preliminary visit to the location where the portrait will be made enables the photographer to plan for the optimum lighting effects. The session fee charged for each portrait created covers the cost of this consultation.
While the landscape of Telluride draws us outdoors with our cameras, it does not minimize the beauty of a studio portrait. Come to our studio in Mountain Village for smaller groups, babies, small children or for the opportunity to have some unique sets. The studio session will be set up in advance after a consultation.
Portrait Session
Depending on the size of your group, the portrait session will last between 90 minutes and 2 hours. We allow for a variety of poses and perspectives. During a session, as the photographer becomes familiar with your family and the surroundings, she may be inspired to suggest one or more imaginative poses or groupings for your portrait. These photographs often become overall favorites because of their spontaneous nature. Please view our gallery for some examples of our creative work. Our goal is to capture the unique spirit of your family and each individual member.
Viewing and Selection of Prints
Your images will be available online and we will notify by email . Your photographer will be available to consult in person, in our studios, or by phone to help you with your print selections. All selected prints are carefully inspected and balanced for light and color for the best quality.
