Our biggest joy when we have new photos is sharing them with our biggest fans, our family and close friends. As I write I glance around my office and I see my beautiful son's smiling face, my god daughter, my good friends and family, framed and smiling back at various ages in their life. It validates me, my love and my life.
This makes my eyes happy and warms my heart several times a day. Clearly, this is not a new concept for any of us. Yet, with advancing technology and attention to social share sites, the act of framing portraits for our daily enjoyment has diminished. And all of our viewing has been reduced to the 2x3 screen of our mobile device. Which is still neat, but is not a portrait. And, your family heirloom portraits deserve so much more.
I too, was stuck in this futile pursuit of finding electronic methods of sharing photos with the most important people in my life. "Grandpa, sign up for Facebook so I can share photos with you every day" or "Mom, you need a new cell phone so I can text you" "Yes, Dad, once you see the little paper clip, click on it, and then drag it to your desk top" "Sister, look at the email I sent you when you get time so you can see the photo I just sent you". The fact is they are as dissatisfied as I am. They are never going to get a new phone, a new computer, or sign up for a social media account. But, they still want the photos so they can enjoy them as much as I do. And a framed photo is easier to navigate. You just set it on your piano or mantle.
Technology is vibrant and exciting, but it is different for everyone. While it has its place, prints are universal. A timeless and beautifully crafted portrait capturing that moment when your daughter is laughing with a sparkle in her eyes is part of you. This is the look that you love the most about her, when she reminds you of you when you were her age.
While we are here in the midst of wonderful technology, I (an avid user) continue to send a good old fashioned heartwarming, eye-happy print delivering oodles of warmth and photo-love to my family and close friends. Sharing the happy. Its time, let us design your wall gallery for you.
