Arthur Hughes's "Ophelia" Replica
oil 2007br/ Robin painted this replica piece from 1852 at age 20, in a studio at UC-Berkeley, where he was not a student. I called him one day and asked him what he was up to...he told me he was painting in a studio at UC-Berkeley. I asked him how he was able to use their studio without a student ID, and he said, quot;Mom, it's Berkeley! No one cares!quot; Arthur Hughes was an English painter and illustrator and one of the leaders of the Pre-Raffaellite school. It is interesting to compare Robin's piece with Hughes's original! Robin changed his background several times in the process of painting it.
